What we are looking for:
Pivotal Consulting is seeking an FP&A Financial Analyst with OneStream knowledge for an 18-month consulting engagement with our banking client in Seattle.
This consultant will support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting while helping the finance team leverage OneStream to deliver accurate, timely financial insights. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills, financial modeling experience, and the ability to translate financial results into clear business recommendations.

The pay range for this position in Washington is $45-$60/hr. W2 plus benefits; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, candidate location, and experience.

What you will do:
- Support annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities.
- Analyze actual results against budget, forecast, and prior periods; identify key drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support scenario analysis, expense planning, and business decisions.
- Use OneStream to support financial planning, reporting, data validation, and analysis.
- Partner with accounting and business stakeholders to validate financial data and reconcile reporting discrepancies.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate financial performance.
- Support month-end reporting activities and provide financial commentary for leadership.
- Collaborate with business partners to evaluate operating expenses, headcount, and departmental performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, reporting consistency, and data quality.
- Document reporting requirements, planning assumptions, and procedures to support repeatable processes.
- Work within client confidentiality, internal control, and financial governance requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience in FP&A, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
- Working knowledge of OneStream, including experience using the platform for financial planning, reporting, or analysis.
- Strong financial modeling and variance analysis skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and analysis of large datasets.
- Ability to interpret financial information and communicate findings to financial and nonfinancial stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to validate data across multiple sources.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet recurring reporting deadlines.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently as a consultant while partnering closely with client teams.
- Experience in banking, financial services, or another regulated environment.
- Familiarity with banking financial performance measures, revenue drivers, and expense structures.
- Experience supporting OneStream enhancements, user acceptance testing, reporting improvements, or planning workflows.
- Knowledge of financial consolidation, account reconciliation, and the relationship between accounting results and FP&A reporting.
- Experience with Power BI, SQL, or other reporting and analytics tools.
- Experience improving financial processes or supporting finance transformation initiatives.
- Relevant professional certification, such as CPA or CFA, or progress toward certification.
