What we are looking for:
Pivotal Consulting is seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Technical Project Manager to support a local government client in Seattle. This consultant will lead a multi-year initiative to evaluate, select, and implement a modern data warehouse platform that will serve as the foundation for enterprise data and analytics modernization.


The ideal candidate will bring strong project management discipline, familiarity with data warehousing concepts, and experience navigating the complexities of public-sector organizations.

The project is expected to span multiple phases over a multi-year period, with initial phases focused on strategic assessment and technology selection.

What you will do:
  • Lead the end-to-end project lifecycle—from needs assessment, vendor evaluation, and platform selection through implementation and operational transition.
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, risks, and deliverables.
  • Establish governance structures and communication plans to ensure stakeholder alignment across technical and business groups.
  • Collaborate with technical teams, data architects, and vendors to guide design decisions and integration strategies.
  • Coordinate with business units to define data and reporting requirements that align with strategic goals.
  • Provide transparent reporting and progress updates to executive sponsors and steering committees.
  • Ensure compliance with public-sector standards, procurement processes, and data security requirements.

What makes you a good fit:
  • Project Management Knowledge: Proven track record managing complex enterprise technology projects, including planning, governance, risk management, and successful delivery oversight.
  • Government Familiarity / Experience: Prior experience working within government or public-sector organizations, with the ability to navigate stakeholder, compliance, and procurement frameworks.
  • Data Warehouse Familiarity: Experience implementing, managing, or supporting data warehouse or analytics modernization initiatives.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and coordination skills across both technical and business audiences.
  • PMP, Agile, or related certifications preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Compensation, Diversity and Benefit Information:
The pay range for this position in Washington is $50-$60/hr. W2 plus benefits; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, candidate location, and experience.
