What we are looking for:
Pivotal Consulting is seeking a skilled M365 Migration Project Manager to lead a complex enterprise-level SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 migration for a major U.S. airline. This role combines project leadership with deep functional understanding of M365 technologies, ensuring successful planning, execution, and delivery of migration and workflow modernization initiatives.


Core Competencies:
  • Client Advisory – Trusted advisor capability with ability to lead discovery workshops and strategic roadmap sessions.
  • Solution Architecture – Skill in designing scalable, secure M365 environments aligned to client needs.
  • Technical Depth – In-depth knowledge across the M365 stack including security, identity, endpoint, and collaboration tools.
  • Project Execution – Proven ability to manage consulting engagements from scoping through delivery and handoff.
  • Communication – Excellent verbal and written communication skills across technical and executive audiences.
  • Problem Solving – Analytical mindset with ability to diagnose complex technical and organizational challenges.

What you will do:
  • Lead end-to-end project delivery for the Microsoft 365 migration, including scope, schedule, resources, risk management, and stakeholder communications.
  • Coordinate cross-functional technical teams—including developers, architects, and business analysts—to ensure smooth execution of migration tasks and Power Platform integrations.
  • Oversee transition from on-premises SharePoint or legacy systems to SharePoint Online and Teams.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and progress dashboards using Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
  • Manage client expectations, report project health, and proactively identify and mitigate risks or blockers.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise governance, data security, and compliance frameworks throughout the migration process.
  • Support testing planning, change management, and user adoption strategies in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Facilitate post-migration evaluation and continuous improvement activities.

What makes you a good fit:
  • Minimum 7 years of IT project management experience, with at least 5 years focused on Microsoft 365 or SharePoint migration initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise-scale M365 or Power Platform transformation programs.
  • Strong understanding of SharePoint Online architecture, Power Automate workflows, Teams integration, and Microsoft security/compliance tools.
  • Proven ability to lead both technical and business teams in an agile or hybrid project delivery environment.
  • Proficient in project management methodologies (PMBOK, Agile/Scrum, or hybrid).
  • Excellent communication, risk management, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Compensation, Diversity and Benefit Information:
The pay range for this position in Washington is $55-$65/hr. W2 plus benefits; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, candidate location, and experience.
