What we are looking for:
Pivotal Consulting is seeking an experienced PeopleSoft techno-functional consultant to work with business and IT stakeholders to analyze requirements, design solutions, configure PeopleSoft modules, and develop technical components using PeopleTools, ensuring stable, scalable, and well-integrated PeopleSoft HCM and/or FSCM applications. This role combines hands-on configuration and business process support with technical design, development, troubleshooting, and participation in upgrades and enhancements.
What you will do:
Collaborate with business users to gather and analyze requirements, perform Fit/Gap analysis, and translate needs into functional and technical specifications.
Configure and support relevant PeopleSoft modules (e.g., HCM, Time & Labor, Absence Management, Payroll, Benefits, Core HR, or FSCM modules such as GL, AP, AR, Purchasing, Inventory).
Design, develop, test, and deploy customizations, interfaces, reports, and enhancements using PeopleTools (PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interfaces, Integration Broker, SQR, BI Publisher, PS/Query, Application Packages, Fluid UI).
Troubleshoot and resolve production and test environment issues, including performance problems, integration failures, and data inconsistencies.
Participate in PeopleSoft upgrades and patches, including impact analysis, retrofitting customizations, and validation/testing of new functionality (PUM images, PeopleTools upgrades).
Develop and maintain documentation such as functional design documents, technical design documents, test cases, and user training materials.
Support data conversion and integration activities with third‑party or internal systems using REST, SOAP, file-based, and other interface approaches.
Work closely with cross-functional teams (functional analysts, developers, infrastructure, vendors) to ensure end-to-end solution quality and alignment with architecture and security standards.
Provide end-user support, training, and best-practice guidance on PeopleSoft processes and features.
What makes you a good fit: Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of hands-on experience as a PeopleSoft techno-functional or senior functional/technical consultant in HCM and/or FSCM.
Strong understanding of PeopleSoft architecture, data model, and core PeopleTools (Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interfaces, Integration Broker, SQR, BI Publisher, PS/Query).
Demonstrated experience in configuration and support of at least two major PeopleSoft modules (for example: GL, AP, AR, Purchasing, Inventory, Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Time & Labor).
Proven experience with requirements analysis, Fit/Gap, and preparation of functional and technical design documents.
Strong SQL skills and experience working with Oracle or similar RDBMS in a PeopleSoft environment.
Experience with system testing, integration testing, and production support in complex enterprise environments.
Preferred:
Experience with PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM), tools and application upgrades, and retrofitting customizations.
Familiarity with PeopleSoft Security, Approval Workflow Engine (AWE), and Workflow configuration.
Experience with Fluid UI and responsive page design in PeopleSoft.
Exposure to change-management tools such as Phire or similar for PeopleSoft object migration.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation, Diversity and Benefit Information: The pay range for this position in Washington is $45-$65/hr. W2 plus benefits; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, candidate location, and experience.
